Mediator Response Testing, Everlywell Food Sensitivity Test + Home Elimination Diets

Updated: Oct 8, 2020

Many common health problems that we think of as mysterious or persistent or chronic start in the inflammation caused in your gut as an immune response to the food we eat.

These reactions can be really hard to spot because the symptoms can be local (like gas) or systematic (like dermatitis), they can be delayed by hours or even days after ingestion, they may be dose-related (a little won’t hurt but a lot will), they may be a reaction to a food-chemical (not even a whole food), and of course they can be triggered by ANY FOOD (even something "healthy").

Irritable bowel is an obvious example, but lots of uncomfortable, lingering conditions are directly related to hidden inflammatory reactions in the gut, including:

  • Migraines

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Rheumatoid Arthritis

  • Depression

  • Insomnia

  • Chronic Fatigue

  • Brain Fog

  • Diarrhea

  • Crohn's Disease + Colitis

  • Reflux

  • Celiac Dz

  • Hashimoto

  • Grave's Dz

  • Dermatitis

  • Eczema

  • Psoriasis

  • Asthma

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Attention Deficit Disorder

  • Epilepsy

Science is proving that all diseases caused by inflammation either originate or are exacerbated by a gut immune reaction to food.

Recently, disease-suffering and health-minded people are realizing it, too.

Everywell is a break-through company that has developed a food sensitivity test that anyone can do in the convenience of their own home, and if you’re a highly self-motivated person with the time to invest in planning + executing a proper, well-balanced elimination diet on your own, it’s a fantastic way to address the root causes of these inflammatory conditions.

In my nutrition practice, I offer food-sensitivities therapy through the use of Mediator Response Testing (MRT) and thorough, highly-individualized counseling. Eliminating inflammation + balancing your immune response under the care of a LEAP certified therapist is a greater initial financial investment in your health, but the speed at which you recover is invaluable (and in my experience, what clients save in prescription meds in just a few months covers the cost rather quickly).

Here's a breakdown of the differences between Mediator Response Testing, Everywell, and (just for fun) at-home elimination diets without testing:

If you would like to learn more about MRT + the LEAP (Lifestyle Eating + Performance) eating plan, I offer “walk-in” virtual consultations Monday through Friday at doxy.me/artofperson.

As always, I hope you find this useful!
